Liam's Persuasive Essay

Sorry, I reserve the right to think my son is clever.  I gave him an assignment to write a persuasive essay....His words follow...
" Mom, I'd like to go to Florida.  It's got Disneyland and Legoland in it.  Plus, it's a pretty cool place, with beaches and hotels and resorts.  It might even be educational with museums and other things.
One of the reasons I want to go to Florida is Disneyland.  Disneyland is a place that has lots of imaginative rides.  It's also got hotels and restaurants and gift stores.
I also want to go to Legoland because legos are my favorite toys in the whole wide world.  Legoland has all lego themed rides.  It also has 4-D movies, legos stores, hotels, and restaurants.
Of course Florida isn't the only cool place to vacation.  We could go to Ireland, Idaho or some of the other states.  Boy, if we could visit them all, it would be really educational for me and the girls.
If I can start saving money and you do the same, maybe we can do what I want to do/  The girls might contribute too.  And I know we won't regret it once we do."

liam in idaho more photos!

While Liam was here in Twin Falls he went on a little photo expedition in downtown.  He got some really good pictures and I know you will like seeing the world through his eyes!

These are just a few of the pics...I will add more and more...and more!

My country tis of thee...

One of my all time favorite holidays is the 4th of July.  I love my country and I feel grateful everyday for the men and women who sacrifice so much for our freedoms...It's a definite bonus that my dad is born on the 4th of July...Makes me happy just thinking about it, 4th of July means parades in Buhl, fireworks at CSI, homemade chicken nuggets, chicken grape salad, watermelon, german chocolate cake...um yeah well it would if I was in Idaho...this year I cleaned and decorated my cabin for girls camp so there wasn't much time to do anything super fun.  I opted for fireworks on the lake with the kids the day before the 4th to make up for it...

walking over is always fun.. this year I had GREAT helpers!

They were being particularly cute so I indulged myself in taking lots of photos!
Look at those kissable cheeks!

Isa just happened to bring her swimsuit...

It never ceases to amaze me at how easily Emery makes friends.  One minute she's standing alone on the shore and then next she's targeted a little girl and is talking her ear off...Isa brings up H2O and we have a new friend named Amber...(side note, we left with amber's number and skype name sheesh!)

The moon was just as beautiful as the fireworks!

Morgan made it just in time to share the love...it's not very often that we spend minor holidays together so it was a treat...

just missing Liam...

I'll end with this one.  He can be a holy terror, but I LOVE him!

a moment...or two...

These are more photos from Morgan's phone...These particular photos are from May...I'm glad Morgan got to pop in and see Price for a bit...  I miss my brothers and am always grateful for time spent with family, even if it is vicariously...
This is Morgan (of course) with Price and his sweetheart Danielle!
Random face from the past!  Robin Parker came through town not too long ago and we had a moment to catch up...
This is a really fuzzy photo of Isa keeping up with Liam.  She LOVES animals and would like to start watching them when people go on vacation.  She's very dilligent and good about reminding me to take her over, I think she'd be great at it!
Thank goodness Morgan had his camera on this one...we found Colin wrapped up in bwoo bwanket.  Not sure how he slept without dreaming of anacondas...
Finally a rare moment of good mom time.  This picture makes me want to be better about reading at bedtime, I see in this photo how much Emery appreciated the time spent...
As Morgan would say, you just gotta schedule it in Jess...well he's right I commit to be better!
More to come soon... I cleared off my camera and there is lots to see!  Nothing too exciting, just some day to day, but it's the day to day that adds up to a lifetime!

To Idaho and back again...

Ok so I think that everyone is familiar with the fact that Liam is mowing lawns for a "living"  It's really so he can buy legos to his heart's content... however when given the choice of buying legos or going to Idaho, he surprised me by picking a ticket to Idaho...
 What a little man!
We personalized his bag so it would be easy to find!

From kayaking the snake with GG...
 To Building legos with pops...
Enjoying the local treats at Kiwi loco, Daisy's, and Hawiaan Ice...
Even Down to meeting Tow Mater and fishing with Poppo

And making a Captain America Shield with Gramachele...  I'd be willing to bet that Liam had the time of his LIFE!!!!  He finished quite a bit of school and even wrote the following about Idaho...
" Idaho is a farming state, if you come here, you'll see lots of cows, corn, wheat, hay, horses and other things.  on occasion you will hear cows "moo" or a rooster's "cock-a-doodle-doo.  You can also hear the wind and that is what makes Idaho "cool".  I n Idaho loads of fruits and vegetables and especially potatoes grow.  So you'd be eating lots of potatoes in Idaho.  Smells you would sniff would be cows, flowers, crops and more.  I love Idaho because all my granparents life here.  I love the smells and the coolness.  Well that's all I've got for today.   Enjoy IDAHO! "
That pretty much sums it all up!  I'm glad he had a great time and I'm glad he's home.  Our lives just aren't complete without him!

daddy dates

i just downloaded all the pictures from Morgan's phone and found some gems!!

Morgan is working SOOO much right now... We try to make sure that he has some special time with the kids on a regular basis. Em is pro at making sure she and daddy have some good times. Her date right now is a 6 am donut date.   I don't have any donut dates documented so we'll move onto the next child...
Liam is a HUGE lego fan, thus the minute the lego store opened the begging began...Morgan is much nicer than me and braved the crowds to take him to the new store...
 Liam in lego heaven!

Of course, no visit to Opry Mills mall is complete without stopping in at Bass Pro...
A few weeks later, Morgan took Liam out early for a little wading and fishing....

Mommy night off.  I'm pretty sure I was in meltdown mode and Morgan rescued the kids from the Mommy Monster!  They met up with Po at Opry Mills...
 See what I mean?

 Another date to the library!
Liam and Colin lego store date...
Isa's bedtime build a bear date!

Though it looks like we spend a lot of money taking our kids out, I promise we don't... They pick the date and most times, it involves taking them somewhere to look at toys or spend money they have earned with odd jobs.  Funny kids...
