deer in my yard!!

I was eating mnm's on the sly while I was waiting for kids to go to bed. I happened to look out the window and saw two deer in my back yard. I LOVE MY HOUSE!! I ran upstairs and got the kids and we went around to the back and saw them in the neighbors yard. What an amazing sight! It was so beautiful. Fireflies and now deer. Talk about cool!! I had to toss in one cute photo of Em at the beach too.

Bored

I am beginning to think that I am indeed the only one with no life as I am always in the mood to blog a new entry. I really don't mean to be a blog hog. If you are annoyed, just skip this entry and pretend it's not here. Being back in Tennessee is good. I miss family, but really aside from the bugs do enjoy Tennessee. One of my favorite things is catching fireflies with the kids. It is just a magical treat on summer nights, so I'm sharing the moment with all of you...

Happy Father's Day!

I just wanted to say Happy Father's Day to all the great dads and dad to be's in our family. We have a super collection of testosterone! hee hee. I'm grateful to each one of you for the love and dedication you show your children and loved ones. We love you all!!

PS as much as I was tempted to put ancient and embarrassing photos of the Spathes boys on the computer, I refrained and will allow Aunt Patti to arrange for some super fabulous and current Father's Day photos to grace another entry.

Our Family is a Circle

When grams died I found this saying and wanted to share it and some thoughts I have been having lately.

Our Family is a circle of strength and love. With every birth and every union, the circle grows stronger. Every joy shared adds more love. Every crisis faced together makes the circle stronger. Our Family is a circle of strength.

I was working with some raw silk this morning and although it is a pretty expensive piece of fabric it is full of flaws, nubs is what they call it. The fabric is a treat to work with and own and I love it but I was struck today by the flaws - and in it I see all of us. We are beautiful a family that is woven together with all the beauty of silk, but there are flaws with each and everyone of us. It is the flaws that make us beautiful and unique - it is what gives us the qualities that make us a whole piece. I pray that each of us has the ability to remember how much each of us means to the fabric of our lives, how much each part of the fabric means and how important we each are.

Our Family is a circle of strength and love. With every birth and every union, the circle grows stronger. Every joy shared adds more love. Every crisis faced together makes the circle stronger. Our Family is a circle of strength.

Family Fast this Sunday

I am asking each of us to please take this Sunday and set it apart as a family fast. If possible I would ask you to fast at least two full meals beginning at 9:00 Saturday evening and to be closed at 5:00 Sunday afternoon. I know this will be difficult for us because it is Father's Day and all that entails. We feel strongly that the need for this fast should take precedence over this important holiday. If you cannot fast please keep us in your prayers at this time. For details you can call either Jessie or me.
We love you all.
