Easter fun!

I just thought I would take a minute to update with some easter photos. We don't have too many cuz my camera batteries went out. bummer. Anyway, our easter bunny changed tradition and left healthy goodies and the kids LOVED it. Isa told me that the easter bunny must really love her because he left her things to help her body grow big and strong. Don't get too excited all you traditionalists out there. We did have mnm's in eggs. Just not too much. hee hee

Today, Liam was a sweetheart. We got home from church and he decided to make lunch for Isa and himself. What's on the menu? Well, corn tortillas with pickles feta cheese and string cheese. Yup. MMMMM I know you are all thinking wow, what a lucky girl. I am just waiting for the tummy aches. Hee hee. You know it is the thought that counts. What a great kid.

Thesis and other news!

Hey there y’all!
I just sent my thesis off for defense and will be finishing that whole process on the 23rd, YEAH! This sounds rather egotistical as I think about the next few comments that I will type, but what the heck, I’m proud of what I have accomplished. My thesis is on the similarities between comic books and traditional folk literature. I look specifically at the superman origin stories and Jewish legends about the Golem of Prague. IN the discussion I demonstrate how both the Golem legends and the Superman stories rely on recurrent images to convey certain meanings that are not explicitly stated in the text. Anyway, I have to send the finished project off to a bindery and I can order extra copies for friends and family but the cost $15 a piece. The thesis is bound by a professional university press and look like a regular hardback that you would purchase at Barnes and Noble. Anyway, if you would like a copy, I will be printing the thesis off and sending it to the bindery in about two weeks. Drop me a line if you want one and I will make sure to order it.

P.S. I submitted an old black and white photo that I took as an undergrad to a literary magazine published here at ISU called Black Rock and Sage and they selected it for the cover, it also won an award. Thanks dad for all your tutelage, I wouldn’t even know how to focus an SLR if it weren’t for you.

I thought I would share a few before and after shots of the rooms we painted. Dining and living room today. Kids rooms tomorrow or Monday! I also thought you would get a kick out of Isabelle's Dorothy look. She makes Daddy dance with her everyday. Her favorite is to get him to turn on the ARTS channel and copy the ballerinas. She watches and makes him do just what the dancers are doing including and especially the lifts. I need to get this girl in some lessons. Hee Hee
