16 years later

I thought you all might enjoy this little photo exchange. We had a valentine's dance for our branch and one of the girls is taking a photography class. She set up a backdrop and took photos and we got them today. I thought I'd do a little comparision from Morgan and I 16 years ago on our first date to just this year on one of our most recent dates. I don't think we've changed all that much, do you?

week of blessings!

This is their little garden that they "planted".

Liam is my little photographer! He loves it. He actually has the law of thirds down pretty well. Morgan was quite impressed. I love the one of Emery prancing. It is perfect!

Me, in another world.

The biggest mistake I made [as a parent] is the one that most of us make. . . . I did not live in the moment enough. This is particularly clear now that the moment is gone, captured only in photographs. There is one picture of [my three children] sitting in the grass on a quilt in the shadow of the swing set on a summer day, ages six, four, and one. And I wish I could remember what we ate, and what we talked about, and how they sounded, and how they looked when they slept that night. I wish I had not been in such a hurry to get on to the next thing: dinner, bath, book, bed. I wish I had treasured the doing a little more and the getting it done a little less”(Loud and Clear [2004], 10–11).

This was written by Anna Quindlen. Elder Ballard quoted her in his talk last Sunday.

This was a quote that I really felt a connection to this week. I have to say, I am learning to be in the moment, but on the rare occasions that I hit it on the nose, it feels really great. I was looking at some photos the kids took while I was reading the other day. (I am definately not in the moment if there is a book around) Anyway, this is a little look at what I missed in that moment. ..

Take a look at Patti and Michele aka Mamachele and Aunt Patti

Well loves it has been a long time since I have posted anything here - life gets busy and by the time I look up from my desk months have passed - if not for cell phones I would lose touch with everyone!! Mark and Mark are cleaning out the garage and suddenly I am faced with boxes to go through - I came across these old pics of Michele and I and have to share.

I'M GOING TO COMICON!!!!!!!

I know that means very little to some of you, but it is a pretty big thing for me. I submitted a portion of my thesis for presentation at this years International Comics Convention in San Diego and it was accepted! How cool is that. I will be presenting my ideas along side some of the most respected scholars in comix/comics studies. YEAH!!!!!!!

Mark, if you can get the time off and have the opportunity I would love to go through the convention center with you and Logan one day.

Anyway, I just found this out today and had to share it with the rest of you. My geek status just jumped up several notches.

Anyway, I just thought I would share.

Cheers,
Price
